In Pineta is a remarkable
villa in an equally remarkable location in the Chianti
hills just south of Florence.
This classy villa is a great home base for visiting the
fascinating city of Florence with its art treasures,

This stylish property has been restored by a famous
Italian architect who has tastefully and artistically
combined excellent use of color with antique and modern
furnishings. Creative use of space presents an open and
airy feeling throughout the house and, because this is
also occasionally used as a family home, the personal
collection of art work, family portraits under
glass, and comfortably molded seats and sofas creates a
very unique and comfortable ambiance.
Set in the beautiful
Chianti hills twelve kilometers south of Florence, In
Pineta is a wonderfully renovated farmhouse, spotlessly
clean with every possible modern convenience. The views
and grounds are simply splendid. The ancient stone
villa sits on 3 acres of fenced and private grounds
which are shared with only the very kind caretakers who
live in a separate stone cottage on the estate.
They attend to the housekeeping (four hours per day), gardening and swimming pool. The pool (13m x 4m) is
large and set in a superb panoramic position overlooking
the vineyards and hills. In 2010 the pool will be
open from May 1 to October 2.
Upon request, it is possible to hire a cook who will
prepare a typical Tuscan dinner for your group. It is a
true joy and treat to "dine in" under on the shady
pergola with great views.
The In Pineta property,
located on the main road from Impruneta to Martellina,
is entirely enclosed and the villa is set back behind a
large electronic gate for privacy.
The hilltown of Impruneta
is two kilometers away. In ancient times, it was called
"In Pineta", which means "within the pine woods".
Remnants of these pine forests can still be seen on the
rolling hills in the area, among the olive groves.
Impruneta has been a center for the terracotta industry
since the 11th century and many artisans continue to
flourish here, producing beautiful handmade terracotta
tiles, pottery and bricks. The town also offers a wide
variety of services such as grocery stores, restaurants,
shops, bank and, especially in the summer, cultural
events in the piazza.
The Golf Club Ugolino (18 holes) is 10 minutes away,
where there is also a tennis club. The villa is just
off of the famous Chiantigiana (Route 222), giving easy
access to the Chianti Hills in one direction and
Florence in the other. There is also a bus stop
for Florence on the Chiantigiana which makes it very
easy to visit the city without having to manage the
drive in and parking.
Day trip possibilities
from In Pineta are endless and enticing. From here you
can visit the glories of the Florentine Renaissance and
the medieval intricacies of Siena, sample the Chianti
Classico vineyards, shop in the weekly open-air markets
in local villages, or simply relax at the pool and watch
the marvelous Tuscan sunsets.
A small dog, a Jack Russell terrier, stays with the caretaker from time to time. If guests have allergies, the dog can be kept inside.

This sophisticated villa is 350 square meters on two
