Villa Mattia is situated in the village of Capo di Sorrento, just a few kilometres from the town of Sorrento, and is the large annex of a villa, now divided into several apartments, and both of the buildings lie inside extensive, enclosed grounds. The grounds have comunal areas but also large parts that are only available for Villa Mattia, including two private car parking spaces, the sun-bathing terrace and the patio with its pergola, all of which have good privacy and the exclusive view overlooking the olive grove below which slopes down to the sea. If you carry on for about 300 metres down the little road which continues after the entrance gate to the property, you come to the archaeological zone called `Bagni della regina Giovanna` (`the Baths of Queen Giovanna`) with the remains of a beautiful roman villa right by the sea, where legend has it that the beautiful Giovanna d`Angio used to come to bathe at this particular point along the coast. On either side of the archaeological remains there are ample areas for sunbathing and for swimming in a clear sea. The house is furnished with good quality furniture and equipped with dishwasher, washing-machine, satellite TV, stereo with CD player and telephone. Sorrento is just 4 kms away and Positano 20 kms.
