Villa Serena, built in 1700, is surrounded by over 7 hectares of woodland and olive-groves. It is situated at a height of 250 meters above sea level, on the last western slopes of Mount Albano in the Valdinievole territory between Pistoia and Lucca. This area offers all the natural and artistic beauties that distinguish the region of Tuscany but has not yet been swamped by mass tourism. The Villa has recently been elegantly and meticulously renovated exclusively using materials salvaged locally and in compliance with the rules of bio-architecture. The result is this very special refuge, with a sophisticated yet friendly atmosphere, where a surprising amount of attention has been paid to detail revealing the owners’ love for antique objects and furniture that bring the past and present closer together: period doors, antique prints, Persian carpets, 16th century fireplaces and painted terracotta are perfectly balanced with all the comforts of a modern home – air conditioning in every room, mosquito screens on the windows, comfortable Waterlily patented mattresses, bio-switches, whirlpool bathtubs and showers, Wi-Fi internet connection, satellite TV and an alarm system. The outdoor areas and garden, decorated with ancient capitals, statues and antique terracotta pitchers, offer a splendid 360° view of the surrounding hills and woods, with open terraces, 2 large porticoes furnished for eating “al fresco”, areas for sitting outside and savoring the scenery and, most importantly, a sunken swimming pool (16 x 8 m) with salt water chlorination and a whirlpool area for 8 people with double jets (from below and from the sides), counter current swimming and night lighting, situated on a natural terrace offering unforgettable views. Villa Anna (see website) is 30 meters away – the outdoor area is immediately opposite – and belongs to the same owners. Villa Anna has an independent entrance and garden and is also rented to foreign guests (the 2 villas can be rented together).

GROUND FLOOR: entrance, 1 double bedroom on the right with French window onto the north veranda; on the left, 1 bathroom with whirlpool shower, large kitchen with antique fireplace (6 burners, 2 ovens, refrigerator with ice-maker, microwave, 2 toasters), dining table for 8 people and French window onto the south veranda; laundry room (washing machine); 1 central living room; 1 spacious room with living area and fireplace and an area with a large dining table seating 10, French window onto the garden. From the entrance, a two flight staircase leads up to the FIRST FLOOR: 1 spacious double bedroom with en suite bathroom and large whirlpool/Turkish bath shower; 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom with multipurpose whirlpool bathtub/shower including chromotherapy/ozone therapy functions (the bathroom also has a second door onto the box room for accessing the third bedroom);1 twin bedroom.
Other services included in the price: Electricity consumption of up to 200 Kw per week.
Paid on site in cash: Electricity consumption in excess of 200 Kw per week. Midweek linen change € 130. Extra services to be requested upon booking: cleaning service with maid: €12 per hour; driver using own car: € 30/40 per hour, using client`s car € 20 per hour (a flat-rate payment can be agreed according to the type of excursion selected); babysitter: €10 per hour; hairdresser service; massage; bodyguard; grocery deliveries to the villa; chef.
