This corner of Tuscany is one of the most interesting areas of Italy from a naturalistic viewpoint, making it an excellent holiday location. Beautiful lakes, clear streams, nature parks and reserves as well as the Apuan Alps, can all be found within a range of just a few kilometers. There is also a Botanical Garden and two sets of some of the most beautiful karst caves in Europe, both of which can be easily visited by the public, near Lucca and less than an hour from the seaside at Versilia.
From the Garfagnana it is easy to reach many historic towns such as Lucca, Pisa and Florence, as well as the sparkling Versilia Riviera, La Spezia and Le Cinque Terre.
The villa is 5 Km away from the village of Camporgiano and around 6 Km from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, the regional capital and heart of the Garfagnana district, and crammed with historical monuments and commercial businesses.
The villa is immersed within a large seven hectare historic park which features unique tree specimens, fountains, statues and gazebos, as well as a beautiful swimming pool (6 x 20 m) with artificial waves for counter-current swimming for the adults and a spacious pool with a waterfall for the kids.
Although it has recently been renovated, Villa Filicaia still maintains the charm of the period in which it was built and is comfortable, welcoming and practical.
Indoors there is a spa with a large whirlpool bathtub for six people, as well as gym equipment.
