Located uphill from Stresa in the sweet village of Massino Visconti, this recently restored villa dates from the 1400's and is related to the Visconti castle located nearby. 

The distinctive red of this house presents a friendly and warm figure welcoming guests to enter the property through a row of handsome pillars.  Inside there is a ground level courtyard with five large arches and a spacious loggia above on the first floor.   Each apartment has its own independent entrance and furnished area.

 
The swimming pool, located just a few steps from the courtyard,  sits in a very panoramic position offering remarkable views of Lake Maggiore and the mountains beyond.  The friendly owners are in residence on occasional weekends and in August and share the grounds and swimming pool with guests.  They have recently restored the house with great care and special attention has been given to the integrity of historical details.
 
Villa Visconti offers a quiet and peaceful environment as it faces Lake Maggiore with the center of Massino Visconti behind the house.  The village offers a handful of grocery shops, cafes and restaurants and the Restaurant Leon d'Oro located just 50 meters behind the villa welcomes guests and has a carry out service.

About the area

Villa Visconti is located in a private and peaceful setting uphill from the lake but still in close proximity to sightseeing and shopping.  Arona and Stresa can be easily reached by car.  The scenic islands of Madre, Bella and Isola dei Pescatori are reachable by ferry service on the lake from Stresa.  The island of Bella is renowned for the splendid Palazzo Borromeo, now an art gallery, and fine Italian gardens. The gardens are open from April 1st through October 31st from 8.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.

Trains from Arona are 15 minutes away connecting to all major train stations.  Grocery shops are within walking distance in Massino Visconti and a larger supermarket is in Gignese at 1km.
Lesa is 7km or 10 minutes by car.  The ferry for the islands and other destinations on Lake Maggiore is in Stresa which is 9 km away. 

Water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and water skiing are in Stresa, Belgirate and Lesa (10 minutes by car).

Tennis and horseback riding are 15 minutes away.

Visconti is a villa in three parts: 

 Unit A 
     Sleeps 4
     100 square meters

Ground floor: Entrance from the arched patio, large living/dining room with fireplace and table for eight, kitchen (oven, microwave, dishwasher washing machine, electric American drip coffee machine) with access to the patio.

First floor: Accessed by interior wooded staircase.  Double bedroom, twin bedded bedroom, large modern bathroom with shower.

This unit is particularly well equipped with telephone, satellite TV, stereo, microwave, American coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Connects with Unit B internally for a total of five persons.

Unit B 
     Sleeps 2
     35 square meters

First floor:  Double bedroom, large modern bathroom with bathtub; there is no living room or kitchen.  The double bedroom has direct access to spacious furnished terrace, which runs the length of the facade and is shared. 

Connects with Unit A internally for a total of five persons.

High season June 4 - September 3 US$ 1360/week
Mid season all other weeks US$ 960/week
Low season November 1 - February 28 upon request

Unit C 
     Sleeps 4
     85 square meters

First floor: Double bedroom with access to terrace.  Bathroom, kitchen and small sitting room. 

Attic floor:  One twin bedroom.

This unit is equipped with telephone, television (local), stereo, microwave, American coffee maker, iron, hair dryer.

Extra bed or crib: 150 Euros per week

Pets are not permitted at Villa Visconti.
