Glossary of Spa Treatments
Bioaquam circuit:
This treatment
joins together the ancient and traditional aspects of spas,
therapeutic water, with the most modern and sophisticated hydro
massage techniques.
Exclusive
treatment enjoyed in the indoor pool, with a passageway to the
outdoor pool. The central hydro massages, known as geysers,
activate circulation and provide an energetic massage to the
legs and the perinea area, where, according to Oriental beliefs,
many energies concentrate. The hydro massages on the outdoor
"beds" are designed to massage the whole body, providing total
relaxation. The horizontal hydro massages are found on the sides
and the edges of the pool. The force of the waters on the lower
part of the body give an invigorating massage to the circulatory
system – venous, lymphatic and arterial - and a delicate peeling
effect on the skin. Enjoy additional hydro massage jets while
seated in the comfortable underwater marble "armchairs".
Views from the Bioaquam circuit over the Tuscan hillside are extraordinary!

combination of essential oils is then applied to the body
resulting in total relaxation. This treatment is especially
designed for circulation of the legs and hydration of the skin
due to its hydrating, antioxidizing properties.
Mediterranean face treatment:
The Metal
Element is the core of this treatment which has a regenerating,
antioxidizing and hydrating action through the combination of
extra virgin olive oil, honey, thermal mud and thermal water
infused with a small amount of lemon juice. The presence of
honey in this treatment further protects the skin. Suitable for
all skin types.
Olive oil:
The Egyptians
used olive oil as an anti-wrinkle treatment; the Phoenicians
called it "liquid gold"; Greek athletes used it for relaxing
muscles and the Romans could not do without it, using it as part
of their spa experience in order to revitalize the body’s
energy.
Rich in
precious substances, extra virgin olive oil is both soothing and
protective for the skin and, thanks to its particular fatty
acids, K, A, E, and D vitamins, it gives excellent results as an
anti-oxidant and helps fight free radicals. The virtues of
thermal mud, combined with those of the thermal waters, help the
skin to absorb it. For this reason, Fonteverde has created a
series of face and body treatments, the “Mediterranean” line,
designed to cleanse, hydrate and nourish the skin.
Oriental
healing tradition:
The theory of
the Five Elements, derived from ancient Chinese Medicinal
