The Villa La Lobra exceeded our expectations. We had stayed at another Villa near by a few years back and La lobra was by far superior. The view was amazing. The location is perfect. The layout of the house is perfect. The walk down to the marina la lobra was a bit overgrown. The Marina La Lobra is great. Angelo's and Funiculi Funicula were great. We also found that near by was the Marina Del Cantone and Lo Scoglio was a wonderful meal on the sea. Taking the boat to Capri from the Marina La Lobra was wonderful. So much easier than going to Sorrento. And so much better than the ferry. We ended up having a lovely day in Paesteum with the greatest greek ruins. Ravello was wonderful as well. The villa was very well situated to visit the whole Amalfi coast. We had a grand vacation. The house was splendid, we could not have asked for a better villa. It was paradise. The house was so relaxing and beautiful that if we had not known of all the things we wanted to do we might have just stayed put all week. Thank you so much for a vacation of a lifetime. T.C. The villa is approx. halfway between the road and the sea. I would not have called it a gentle slope--perhaps a gentle cliff would be better, but we managed. I never dared to go down directly to the sea although some stone steps were there, looking somewhat unused and with no rail. However, by going up hill to the road, where there was a secured gate, ( about five hairpin turns up the drive) to where the car was parked we had ready access to all sorts of delights, especially the nearby picturesque Marina della Lobra. Everything was spotless, lush with lemon trees and colorful with many blooming flowers under blue skies and overlooking the beautiful Bay of Naples. The Villa itself lacked for nothing, comfortable contemporary furnishings, two very adequate bathrooms, both with showers, And Carmela was a jewel. She was the key holder and also the cleaning person, and lived in nearby Massa Lubrense. We loved Massa as a small town, and after the hub bub of Sorrento, we were so glad to get back to it. We were also able to hire a boat at our Marina to take us to Capri, for little more than the ferry in Sorrento would have cost the six of us. And that included a tour around the island and a return trip to pick us up at our convenience for the return home.It also saved driving two cars to Sorrento and parking fees, or the cost of round trip bus tickets. You will be happy to know that I'd go back there in a heart beat if I were younger and able to do more walking, especially the up and down kind. Thank you for your help in finding this place for us and enabling us to have a truly memorable vacation. P.S. If you steer any future clients to this villa, be sure to have them call in on Angelo and his family who own the bar and pizzeria at the Marina known as Angelo's. He speaks English and his hospitality and friendliness made it a perfect hangout for us. J.F. |
