What a find. My family has stayed at several other villas in Italy and vacation homes in the USA. This is by far the best. Everything about it was wonderful. We all love to cook and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans. It was an added bonus that there were separate apartments. It gave every family the ability to come and go without disturbing the others. The grounds are so very beautiful. The kids picked cherries and apricots every day and my youngest son made fruit compotes and tarts from what they picked. It was really hot, so the pool got a good amount of use. Air conditioning was a real bonus as was the washer/dryers in each unit. I never quite mastered the dryer part, so I hung clothes on the drying rack provided. I felt so Italian! Each unit had it’s own patio, but we spent most of our time on the largest one, eating meals and just relaxing. One night Andrea, the owner came over with a couple of his friends and played music for us. What a treat to be outside on a beautiful evening, in beautiful surroundings, listening to some great music. San Casciano is very centrally located, close to the Autostrada and Andrea was very helpful with directions for travel. The smaller towns around San Casciano are very quaint. We found some really good restaurants very close by. We fell in love with the property and with Andrea and Claudia. They were both so lovely to us and we can hardly wait to go back and stay there again. R.S. July 2015 We absolutely loved Borgo Casciano! It felt like home the moment we arrived. Our hosts, Andrea and Claudia were so thoughtful and attentive. Anytime we needed or asked for anything, Andrea responded cheerily and immediately to address it. The property was exactly as pictured—just beautiful, and well appointed. And the location could not be beat! We walked into the small village of Mercatale several times; had an easy car ride into San Casciano and easily traveled into Florence and the surrounding Tuscan countryside regularly. Andrea was generous with his suggestions and tips, which were very helpful. Our only regret is not being there during the summer months to see all the beautiful flowers and fruit trees in their full glory—perhaps next time! Thanks again. S.L. May 2015 Hi Jim, I was just looking at some pictures from our vacation in Italy and it reminded me that I haven't responded. My comments are as follows: From the very first email, Gira Travel answered my emails quickly and with a level of professionalism that is unmatched. Gira Travel and the property, "Borgo Casciano" was recommended to us by family friends that had stayed there the year prior to our travel. Gira Travel answered all of our questions and provided all support necessary to reserve the property. All documentation for deposits and final payments was clear and easily understood. The property was amazing! We were a party of 16 (all family and friends). Each family had their own separate living spaces (including own kitchens), updated clean bathrooms (so many I can't count them!) Each unit was special and private, but just a walk out your door and into the courtyard led you to the next unit. The views from the property are amazing! Silence is all you hear throughout the day and night, so peaceful! We took day trips to Florence, Siena, Pisa, Monterrigione, San Gimignano and came back to enjoy the villa at night. Gira Travel arranged chefs to come to the villa! What a delicious and wonderful experience! The owners of the villa take great pride in the property and stop by in the morning and evening to make sure everything was going well. In turn, we took care of the property as our own. We will return to Borgo Casciano and use Gira Travel to do so as soon as we have another opportunity to travel to Tuscany! Respectfully submitted, A. D. June 2014 |
