Villa Mima is a splendid 18th century stone farmhouse that
lies roughly equal distance between Florence, Siena, Pisa and the
seaside. Gatherings of friends and family love this villa for its ideal
location and dominant position with expansive views over the beautiful
Chianti hills.
Located on a 10-acre olive orchard estate, Villa Mima is an impressive
structure that was built at the beginning of the 1800s. It
comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests and measures 390 square meters
(about 4090 square feet) in size. The current owner is an artist
and lives in the restored barn behind the main house in order to
guarantee guests total independence and complete privacy. He has
recently restored Villa Mima, creating harmony between the
authentic Tuscan character and up-to-date modern conveniences such as
satellite television, wireless internet and air conditioning in each
room. Great respect has been given to architectural style and
traditional workmanship. This is reflected in the immaculate
white walls, handmade terracotta floor tiles and the mighty oak beams.
Elegant “pietra-serena” stone frames the windows and doors are
made of cypress wood with antique style brass fittings. This
simplicity is not accidental. It retains the gracefulness and
integrity of the old farmhouse while blending with its rural setting.
The atmosphere at Villa Mima is one of privacy and peacefulness.
The property is reached by 800 meters of paved road and is accessed by
a private driveway. The attractive garden has a hammock and a
number of benches for relaxing and reveling in the lovely
surroundings. The large swimming pool (12mX6m) sits in a very
panoramic position. High quality sun loungers are provided and, due to
the full southern exposure, there is sun continuously from morning to
evening.
Guests can unwind around the pool, enjoying glasses of Chianti, or
lounging on two panoramic terraces built off the main house. Dinner can
be enjoyed by the pool or on the terraces. Guests have two equally
tempting gastronomic choices: cooking their own food in the modern,
fully equipped kitchen or on the BBQ, or hiring Villa Mima’s cook to
prepare dinners for the entire group . Meals are served with olive oil
straight from Villa Mima’s groves and much of the food and wine is
produced by other Italian estates in the surrounding region.
Villa Mima was designed to take advantage of the soft Tuscan light and
many of the rooms overlook the valley and have been opened up by
rounded arches. The natural beauty and nostalgic country
feeling is expressed through the antique stone, terra cotta floors and
warm shades of the wood beamed ceilings. Furnishings are simple
and include Tuscan hand wrought iron beds, antique furniture such as
chest of drawers and armoires and Belle Époque bathrooms.

Ground floor
The spacious double living room with a large Tuscan
fireplace, comfortable sofa and armchairs is equipped with satellite
TV, Denon HI-FI system, CD and DVD player, a collection of 100 CDs
(Classic, Jazz, Salsa, Pop) and an upright piano. Large double French
doors open onto the main terrace (328 sq. ft/100 m2) where guests can
enjoy dining under the plane tree in front of the expansive panorama.
The dining room seats 16 people and has a long wooden table.
There is an adjacent sitting room for reading and relaxing.
The kitchen is ample with fireplace and its own access to the
garden. It contains cooking equipment for serving 20 people and has a
5-burner stove, electric oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, side by side
refrigerator-freezer and all modern amenities such as coffee maker and
mixer. Next to the kitchen there is a laundry room with washing
machine, dryer and ironing equipment. There is also a small office
with desk, sofa, phone and printer/scanner/fax.
There are 2 bedrooms on this level. One is a queen bedroom with
an additional single bed and ensuite bathroom with tub and
shower. The other is a queen bedroom suite with en suite
bathroom with shower, satellite TV and private terrace.

Two queen bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom with
bathtub and shower, one twin bedroom with two beds (beds can
join) with private bathroom with tub and shower, one bedroom with three
single beds (2 beds can join) with private bathroom with tub and
shower.
Single beds can be joined to form queen beds.

Supplemental costs to be paid on the spot: Wood for fireplace
(15 Euros per 100 kg), heat is metered (6 Euros per cubic meter).
Air conditioning 1 Euro per Kwh. Tourism tax 1 Euro per person
per day--does not apply to children up to 14 years of age.

Upon request: Cook - price per dinner per person: 1st menu

2nd menu Euros 45 (wine included); house cleaning service (Euros
