A Veneto Beauty
Called Sossano |
|
Balustrade on the side patio By this time the lump in my throat progressed to tears rolling down my cheeks. I was so moved by the rustic beauty of it all. The small pictures on the internet could not possibly do justice to the actual property. It was such a leap of faith to choose this particular property from all the others we had researched. The view from the back lawn overlooks the small town of Sossano. It is an agricultural center whose important products are Prociutto San Danieli ham, wine and farm equipment. The entire area, the Colli di Berici, is made up of flat plains textured with beautiful patterns made by the planted crops giving way to sudden rising hills. I’m sure it changes with the seasons, but because our house was nearly at the top of one of these hills, we often awoke in the middle of a cloud bank that would burn off by the middle of the day.
