Alexandra
Alexandra, a modern independent villa dating to the 1950's, is located several meters above the lively coastal road bordering Lake Maggiore. Lesa is located just a short distance away and can be reached in five minutes by foot along a pedestrian walkway behind the villa. The views are remarkable along the route. Lesa offers a variety of shops and restaurants. The Rapanello Restaurant in Lesa offers delicious meals which can be ordered in advance and then taken home. The small harbor and lakeside promenade are just in front of the house. There are several nearby destinations and activities in the area for guests' pleasure. Just a ten minute walk away, you will find a sports club with tennis courts and large swimming pool, which offers guests a daily or weekly rate. The beach is fifty meters from the villa and there are also two golf courses within fifteen minutes by car. The ferry to the other beautiful lake resort towns and islands docks at Belgirate which is also just ten minutes away on foot. Daily excursions are possible to the Borromean Islands, to Arona and the Botanical Gardens at Villa Taranto.
Alexandra is a great choice for
those who prefer not to rent a car. The railway station of Lesa
is for local trains and is only five minutes away by
foot. Trains for Milan depart from the railway station in
Stresa which is about six kilometers away. From the main train
station in Milan there is a direct, regular train connection (Cisalpino)
to Stresa, where you can take a taxi for the last six kilometers
to the villa. Malpensa airport outside of Milan is only around
forty-five minutes away by car.
The villa is accessed from the
main road through a large gate where steps climb to the very
lush garden (800 square meters) and lead to the villa.
Ground Floor The entrance hall, accessed from the garden, opens into a bright roomy living room with large windows offering open and wide views over the lake, a fireplace and a dining table for eight. Two walls of this large living room are completely occupied by windows offering a spectacular view, and there is access to terrace/patio furnished with outdoor furniture and table for fifteen people. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a family dining room (table for six) next to it and a half bathroom with sink/WC. Equipment includes refrigerator, telephone, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, electric oven and microwave.
Also on the ground floor is a
spacious double bedroom with views of the lake and a small patio
(in this room one can lie on the bed and gaze out onto the lake
and the sailing boats). There is also a twin-bedded room,
two single rooms and two bathrooms - one with shower, the other
with bath and shower.
First Floor
Upstairs there is a simple and functional twin bedded room with bathroom with shower. Furnishings on the main floor are have been carefully selected for their quality and include ornamental detail, fine upholstery and linens. The furnishings on the first floor are more modest and simple in style.
The exterior areas of the villa
are very pleasant and offer spectacular views of the lake from
the furnished patio and a lovely garden.
Please note: Alexandra can be
combined with neighboring villa
Nicholas and can be the perfect place for a
gathering of 15 friends or family.
